"Lindella building gone forever"

I often pass the Lindella Dance School at the top of Buchanan Street but on the 11th July 2011 I was sad to find that the whole building had been demolished. I took some photographs & noticed that the red door which led into that wonderful dance floor was still there.

I remember the first time I passed thro' that door full of confidence that I was a jiver! What a come down when Betty did not like my style & put me under the charge of Mary & AnnaBelle. Of course there was also Jackie Trotter whose immortal words "one, two, step together" will be forever in my memory!

But the scene goes on. I am still jiving & meet old Lindella friends at class,pubs & dances. Some have their own jive classes now. Some jivers just stand out with style. You can bet if you asked them "Where did you learn that" they would reply "I went to the Lindella" .
