A review of The Polo Lounge by Andy S written on Monday 18th of July 2011
Living in Glasgow your choice for a gay night out in limited. The Polo Lounge claims to be the best Glasgow has to offer but in truth it has no real competition. The drinks are watered down, the music policy is dire and the staff (bar, door and stewards) look miserable most of the time.
A gay bar/club is a place where anyone who is gay should feel comfortable and be able to enjoy themselves without fear of scorn because they are too old, too fat or not wearing the right clothes. The Polo Lounge in Glasgow is one of the worst examples of using the name "Gay Club" when infact its a gay club for boys and girls under 21.
Oh and please dont take your top off in the club as the management frown upon that sort of thing.
If you want my advice save your money and travel to manchester or london for a real gay clubbing experience. You will not find anything remotely club orientated about the polo lounge.
Andy.
