A review of Caledonian Travel by Stiff and sore. written on Saturday 27th of August 2011
We travelled to London and back this week and can only say - "never again!" We have no complaint whatsoever about our driver, Paul, - he was polite, amusing, helpful and infomative. The main problem is the coach - seats are small, narrow and not atall comfortable. They have a plastic piping around the seat cushion which digs into your thigh. Air conditioning is either on, in which case those at the back of the bus are frozen, or if it's off we melt with heat. An eleven hour drive surely deserves a more comfortable coach?!
The only complaint we had with the 4 star Britannia Hotel was the fact that every meal was buffet style and we were instructed to arrive at certain times, with the threat that if we didn't, we would not be allowed entry to the dining room. After the first night we arrived and dined at a time suited to us with no problem atall. Was this the hotel's little joke? 7.30am breakfast when you are on holiday is just not on!
Overall, - we went to visit family so it was a worthwhile trip but next time we will not travel by Caledonian coach..
