A review of The Merchant Pride by David written on Thursday 28th of June 2007
Everyone is slagging off merchant pride. The pub itself is not that bad. Sure - its not the best looking pub in world or the cheapest. New entertainment would be good as it does become same old same old. Its always packed on a sunday so they must be doins something right.
However, it would be nice to get some eye candy behind the bar. If you go in during the week its only ever the older guy (john?) thats on and he doesnt seem that approachable to have a chin wag with. I agree that Sandra is Fab and have known her for years from Austins so its good to see her. Paul is a nice guy too and has worked there for years and always makes an effort whether he is working or not to make you feel welcome.
But get some younger staff for during the week and PLEASE get some new CD's - its the same music every time i go in there. I tend to go befor going clubbing and its often quiet miserable music if there is any music at all.
By the way May - Think ure fab.
