"St.Gerards a place to grow"

I think I am probably the oldest pupil that went to St. Gerards. I live in Southcroft St just across from the janitors house, anyone remember him? so it was easy for me and my brothers and sister to go to school.

I loved St. Gerards. I was not a particularly bright student in elementary, but I sure became one when I entered St.Gerards.The school was a joy to me and I hated the school holidays, I could hardly wait to get back.The teachers wanted me to go to university, but in those days girls and education did not seem to be a priority, mores the pity! I am a senior now and I live in Canada and I look back with fondness at my time in St.Gerards. Thank you St. Gerards..
