A review of St Mark's (Shettleston) R C Primary School by Paul McGachan written on Tuesday 20th of September 2011
Another one from 1972-79,..Hi Julie!..StMarks brings the happiest of memories,I was fortunate to spend part of my childhood in the Auld sandstone building as well as the modern block. Both had very different atmostpheres, the old school could seem quite threatening as i remember! classrooms were massive and the whole place echoed-especially when Mr Morrison practiced his bagpipes!I suppose each building represented their times' 19th and mid 20th centuries.with hindsight the staff seemed laid back and progressive however my time was the 70s...maybe auld pricey, bunter et al would dissagree.Nothing but praise for my former teachers, anyone remember Mrs Morrison my first?A diamond of a woman, often think of her.Mrs Barrack the nurse!she really was a nits specialist!..am told?Special mention for Mr McBride(am sorry you caight me buying singles in the shop) and MrPaton..as for auld Salvidge?say no more..
