A review of Odeon Cinema by Donna Robertson written on Friday 16th of December 2011
One of the loveliest cinemas in Glasgow that I visited for the first time to see White Xmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. I have it on just now on DVD and still my mind is lingering back to the 50s waiting a big queue with my cousin Matt and his girlfriend Sheila to see this film.. my heart was pounding walking in as Id never been in a city centre cinema until then..... Years later and many more visits, I saw Roy Orbison on stage there along with The Walker Brothers. what a night that was.. I sadly dont remember my very last visit, before it closed. but I think it might have been with my son in the 80s... Id love to get in one more time to take some photos.... as myself and some amateur photographers have visited the Rosevale in Partick to take some... if anyone knows how we might get access to the odeon please contact me... donnarobertson@hotmail.co.uk...
