A review of PC World by Jim Thistle written on Saturday 5th of May 2012
Never, never use PC World /Currys. Just walked out of PC World / Currys at Finnieston (Glasgow) because the salesman refused to sell me a laptop as I would not answer his questions! I went into the shop knowing exactly what I wanted as I had discussed my needs previously with a good friend who is an IT expert. But the salesman first of all insisted on trying to sell me an upgrading package for my desired machine which sounded to me like a leasing arrangement, initially for a two year period. When I indicated disinterest he proceeded to fire a number of intrusive questions at me regarding what anti-virus software I used ; why I wanted to buy a laptop etc. When I asked him to stop and just sell me the product, he said he coudn't do that till I had listened to his peroration. I walked away from him and asked to see the manager. I told the manager I just wanted to buy one his products but he said his salesman was just 'doing his job' by asking me questions and attempting to lecture me. He showed no willingness to conclude a sale so I left the shop empty handed. What an appalling experience and what outlandish and boorish behaviour! Shame on PC World / Currys..
