A review of Elder Park Primary School by George Beaton written on Wednesday 10th of October 2012
My sister, a pupil at Elder Park in the 1930's attended the 1998 centenary and was surprised to see a board listing the Dux medallists on which I was absent. I attended in the 1950's and was Dux in 1956. I wrote to the headmistress, enclosing a picture of my medal. The explanation was that the school only had records from 1960. Nevertheless, I had a great education at Elder Park and went on to Alan Glen School ( now also demolished) and then the University of Glasgow (still standing) Despite the fact that I am now 68 years old, I still have vivid recollections of the school, environment and playground and very happy times and of the wonderful staff.
