A review of Princess Royal Maternity Hospital by Holly written on Thursday 22nd of November 2012
I had my youngest baby at PRM on 6th Nov 2009.
I was in hospital 10 days with pre aclampsia before he was born.
In this time I felt very looked after and cared for, I was a high risk case so maybe thats why, the kitchen was easy oasy, you got 3 cooked meals a day and could go along and get tea coffee toast or biscuits when ever.
After I had my son it all fell apart, I was in high dependance for 24 hrs and they where great then when I went up to the ward(without my baby) I was put in a single room at the very end of the ward which was not lite very well and was almost ghostly to be honest, ver isolated. I had my son on the friday and was discharged on tuesday after a c-section which I was ok at.
Exactly a week later I was rushed to the western Infirmary with a DVT I spent 24 hrs there and was tranfered back over to PRM to be with my son. This time I was given a single room right next to the midwife station which I felt very comfortable with as I had just been through a horrible experiance.
I was told by an axillary nurse not to use the toaster as it was a fire hazzard, felt so insulted. I never went back to the canteen after that.
There where some awful midwives and some amazing ladys. There where some great doctors and one awful doctor, I had to get a blood transfusion and the midwives where great about it. I was finally discharged with my son 3 weeks after it all began.
Even though It wasnt the greatest experiance I will be going back to have my 3rd. .
