"Great Doctor - Impossible to get an appointment when needed."

I suppose it is indicative of the whole NHS system, where you can only register at one practice.. What happens when that practice is busy??.. I work full time need to see the doctor but cannot. What do I do??... Not go to doctor??, have further days off work and get stressed? go to A&E for something a doctor can help out with and tie up the A&E staff..????
