A review of Springboig St Johns School by James Caldwell written on Monday 23rd of September 2013
I was in the,"Johns", from mid to late 80's. At the time I was the only guy from Ayrshire which the boys quickly latched onto the accent I had,we had a great laugh,I was fully Residential and in Ogilvie,(each unit was given a name), it was very strict and if you stepped outta line you knew it,at the time there was Big Paddy,a white South African who tolerated no flouting of the rules he was a big man, intimidating but fair.
The boys were sound,so a hello from James Caldwell from Kilmarnock to all St Johns pupils and to the Staff who guided us,gave us advice and helped whenever they could.
A special hello to big Kev from Airdrie, wee Franky from Clydebank,Tank,James, the boys from Greenock also a thanks to all Staff,Dougie who taught English, does anyone know an email address,The Gardener who got my older brother,Tommy,a job at Botanic Gardens in Glasgow .
