We are just back from a great holiday to southport and the prince of Wales hotel was good value for money.i can't remember the drivers name but he must be on it regular as his history of all the day trips was exceptional . My gripe is the amount people tip the driver for excellent service. If a pizza is delivered to your door and its £6,20 you don't take changer of £7 if your grumpy taxi driver drops you off and says £4,10p you give him a fiver and say thanks. I've noticed that when collecting your luggage from the tour driver that's kept you safe all week and gave you loads of information and ironed out any problems and kept you smiling and to see the driver receive a lousy pound for a five day tour must feel like a slap in the face.. No wonder some people say their last driver was pretty quiet...well if he expects a lousy pound for a five day tour what more is he going to put into the tour than getting us about safely...that's 20p per day... So come on it should be at least £1 a day per person per day...and if he's been as good as our southport driver it was £20 from me and my wife.
