"Very Disappointing Experience"

We took my daughter's prom dress to be re-modelled slightly and altered. The first time we went back for a fitting, the work had not been done so we had a wasted journey. We had to go back for 2 further fittings and were then told the dress would be ready by 10am on the Saturday. We arrived at 11am to be told the work had not been done and that we should come back in an hour. We went back only to be told that the dress was still not ready and we'd have to wait. When I spoke to the manageress her attitude was really rude and dismissive – she clearly wasn’t aware of the website’s promise of “unbeatable customer care! She then proceeded to speak about us to several members of staff within our hearing. After a total of 5 visits which involved the time and expense of coming into the city centre on each occasion, we eventually got the dress back. The work was not of a good standard and was poorly finished, but by that stage we decided to take the dress home and get someone else to finish the job. I would stress that the seamstress who worked on my daughter's dress, Maria, was clearly capable and knew what she was doing, but the shop staff obviously take on too many jobs for her to handle, which means she's constantly under pressure to finish these and maybe that's why the quality suffers. If you want a pair of trousers or a skirt taken up, Sew Easy are probably fine, but I would hesitate to take a wedding or prom dress there and certainly wouldn't do so if you need the job completed quickly..
