A review of City Facilities Management (UK) Ltd by Mike Hunt written on Monday 1st of September 2014
I worked for city as an Asda Ace for 4 years. Firstly I stayed there that long as jobs in my region were poor and I needed to put food on the table etc.
It is a typical " dogs body" role where your manager treats you like dirt! I'm sure there are good managers but the job entails you working hours that will be changed frequently so no stability, you are singled out and "sent to Coventry" if you don't do overtime even if restricted by getting tax credits!
One week you could be on 40 hours and the next week 30. Forget contracts they mean nothing!
No breaks for a 4 hour shift, no holiday pay for working bank holidays, no double time, no bonus even though your manager gets one off the back of our hard work.
Maternity and paternity leave is frowned upon and they will try and make you take as little as possible.
Rubbish pay, no chance for progression or promotion. Your a number not a person!
This is the result of minimum wage jobs where you can like it or go on the dole!
So glad I left and went to work for Aldi. Career prospects, paid holiday and excellent management plus bonuses all round!|.
