I visited Iona and was lucky enough to have the Iona Community as my host for the week. Im ashamed to admit that i preconceived the community as some kind of 'bible bashing cult commune' and was dreading having prayers and church shoved down my throat every 5 mins. I couldn't have been further from the truth! The community is indeed christian but its not forced upon you, you can be as involved or uninvolved as you like.and you're not made to feel bad about it! The setting is beautiful (Iona is stunning) the people are wonderful and i guarantee you will go back! Felt more like returning home to a family reunion than going for a break with strangers. Genuinely good people. Would give more stars if i could..
