A review of Iona Community by Ess written on Thursday 11th of September 2014
Would recommend everyone, young and old alike, make a point of visiting the beautiful isle of Iona. The scenery is spectacular! Gorgeous landscape, stunning views, historical buildings all surrounded by beautiful beaches that can match any foreign holiday resort, with the added bonus of a very welcoming and 'at home' sense of belonging that i have never felt on any other holiday ive been on. I feel privileged to have been able to experience the communal living of the communities Mac building which is run by as well as home to a host of different nationalities who volunteer their services wether that be cooking, housekeeping, planning events, excursions etc, and all of them are happy to make your time with them memorable. Its difficult to find words that explain the experience but if i had to sum it up i would simply say "do yourself a favour and go".
