A review of Ruchazie Primary School by Isobel Harrison written on Sunday 4th of January 2015
I remember Miss Young. She looked like a typical teacher of the day - tall, bespectacled and always wore a suit. Ruchazie was a great primary school. I went from 1960 to 1964 going on to Garthamlock secondary, which was also a very good school. I have great memories. I got the belt many times, but no doubt deserved it. Mrs Boyle was strict but she had about 48 pupils to teach. A few of us would meet up every day to walk to school, unlike today's youngsters who have to be taken and collected from school, and the fun we had on these daily trips was hilarious..
