A review of B B C Club (Glasgow) by Frank Mungall written on Sunday 15th of March 2015
The BBC club in Glasgow's west end was in it's day a really fantastic place where the great the good and the famous would gather to chat, eat play snooker and the slot machines and have a jolly good time drinking subsidised alcohol in the downstairs public bar. It would get so busy at times that they would open the upstairs bar and at Christmas and New years eve it was so popular that a ticketing system allowing only two guests per member admission. When the bars in the west end of Glasgow closed at 10 o'clock during the week the BBC club had a special 'supper' licence which allowed them by law to stay open until 11 at night, popular indeed. The reason that I was moved to write this is because today is mothers day 15/03/2015 and the BBC club closed about 10 years ago. It might be prudent to take it off this site.
Thanks..
