A review of Catherines Of Partick by Disgruntled Islander written on Friday 10th of July 2015
I, Mrs Macdonald visited with a view to purchasing an outfit for my daughter's wedding. I found the range of outfits on offer to be fairly traditional and very expensive. the fitting rooms were rather poky and I was directed into the one to the far left. Once you step outside of this changing room you are in the path to their back shop where staff were constantly in and out. There was a large mirror mid shop but at one stage I was asked to move away from there as another customer requiring an alteration needed to be stationed there.
I felt that staff showed little interest in the customers and were more interested in making a hard sale. At this stage in a woman's life where you will spend several hundred to perhaps one thousand pounds on that special outfit, I think such shops need to bring out the tea and cakes and get to know their customers in order to build up a rapport. Fortunately, there are such shops a short train journey away..
