A review of Holy Cross R C Primary School by James McVey written on Tuesday 9th of February 2016
I began my education at Holy Cross Primary, in Daisy street in 1947.At the first playtime I managed to squeeze through the padlocked gates, running for home, pursued by a teacher and the janitor. My mother answered my ringing the bell.I ran passed her and locked myself in th toilet. After much cajoling, I gave myself up, and was escorted back to school.which I found to be not so bad after all! My best friend was John Pollatschek, whose father was a Pole, shot down, while flying with the RAF..
