A review of City Facilities Management (UK) Ltd by RaraJaney written on Sunday 29th of May 2016
I totally agree with the 'clean - as - you - go' issue you have just mentioned. We too, have had the same problem - with the Asda night crew - leaving spilt wine, dog treats, etc., etc., for we AM Aces to clean up. We more or less, hounded our SCM to do something about it as it was against company policy and taking up our time on what should be used for our REAL job. He said he would put forward the matter at the next meeting with Asda management and now the matter has been resolved. It was brought to our attention that the GSM had already informed the Asda colleagues it was THEIR job to clean minor spillages and breakages during the night and early morning. The only problem there was they'd use our equipment and not return it. Or, even worse, not wash it out. Now, our cleaning store is locked at night.
Regarding the customer service we have to provide, our Voice Rep' made that a matter of concern with the GSM, which means all we have to do is to either tell a customer the aisle number, or find an Asda colleague. We DO NOT waste our valuable time taking them to the product. Our time is precious - we have so little of it - and we are not Asda staff. (Despite our title).
As a consequence of all this we now tell the staff it's YOUR job to clean up YOUR own mess before 10.00. I have also said we are not employed as personal servants for Asda staff to use as they wish. We are there to provide a clean environment via a reasonable amount of cleaning - for customers - in order for the store to continue trading. I refuse to be belittled, or made to feel worthless, by people who think they are entitled to discredit my job as useless by thinking all we do is walk around the store doing nothing. At the end of the day we are ALL there to do a job, therefore, nobody has absolutely any right to treat us with disrespect or contempt in the misguided belief that they are better than us because of the job we do..
