"Delivery times qouted"

I have been an employee at Allans for 17 years now & 20 years at house of fraser before that selling big ticket items.

i see various reviews on here from previous customers regarding Delivery times qouted but not met. these reviews are very unfair & only give one version of events. most upholstery goods have to be ordered from manufacturer who will produce these & transit to our warehouse thus we are wholly dependent on them for delivery time scales.when a customer requests goods that need to be ordered in we quote an approximate delivery time based on our experience of dealing with said manf but always inform customer that these dates are not gauranteed. These dates can be further compromised by being produced overseas ( 95% of goods sold in uk now produced overseas)as these will be supplied in containers & liable to delay caused by shipping companies which we have no control over whatsoever. my experience of serving the general public has been positive overall but customers can sometimes have selective memory when recalling del times quoted. for 30 odd years i have learned i cant gaurantee any delivery & stress that they are approimate only but customers tend to switch off when they are told this & only hear what they want to hear. may sound harsh but is very true..
