A review of Knockburn Primary School by Elaine written on Saturday 15th of July 2017
I can't imagine what kids around that area do now Knockburn is gone. I lived in Northgate Road at the corner of Ferness Place(the side street we called) and between that street which led to the main gate of the school and the school itself 99% of my childhood was spent. I was RC so didn't go to it but except for the summer playscheme. Every wean played in that school. Mostly as the previous poster said at Fitba but we'd also ride our bikes play golf or rounders with the trees as the bases and holes. But mostly it was football long shots in or crosses at the sheds or on the red ash or the patch at the back we would have asides against the kids from round the back. I was the only girl playing i was pretty good even if i say so myself. We all loved the game we'd play til we had enough or it was too dark and then regardless of score someone would shout next goals the winner..
