A review of PDSA Pet Aid Hospital by Jeannette Scott written on Sunday 31st of December 2017
Our wee dog Mindy was a healthy happy dog until she developed bald patches. We had her at three local Vets paying hundreds of pounds for treatment of what they said was an allergy. Her tail was bald and most of her body too. Shampood her with an extremely expensive shampoo but no improvement.
In despair Mum took her to PDSA. The vet took one look at her and she asked Mum
"I know this seems like a daft question but do you think she's depressed?"
Well yes we did think she was. Her happy disposition was replaced by a miserable dog who hated going out.
She had blood tests which showed the Vet was spot on she had an under active thyroid.
Within a couple of weeks she perked up, fur started to grow back and she lost weight.
She had regular blood tests and kept well until her final days. She was thirteen and just started having seizures. We decided with the Vet that it was the kindest thing to put her to sleep. The staff were great as my three brothers were sobbing wrecks. They were able to be with her until the end
Couldn't praise them highly enough..
