A review of St Bartholomew's R C Primary School by Gerry B written on Thursday 12th of April 2018
I am Mrs Brett's son, who's mentioned here and I too went to this school and I was in the same class as Kevin Thompson and John Curran, both of whom have commented here. If you are about guys, please get in touch. The Mrs Johnson and her son, David, who are also mentioned here, were known to me. I was taught by both Miss Easdale and Miss Reid, both of who are also mentioned here. I have to say it gives me pleasure to read that some one thought so highly of my mother, sadly dead now, but yeah she loved the children of Castlemilk and saw it as a sort of mission. She had a brief interlude as a Head Teacher in Pollockshields but I think she was overjoyed to end her career in Castlemilk at St Martins.
I remember gentian violet, the smell of the toilets on rainy days, jaggy trousers, the football team run by Mr Carr, the janny, and the fear of being nutted off to the special school. It was a great school really, very happy memories indeed..
