"My item was lost as it was delivered to the wrong address."

I purchased an item on ebay and was eager for it to arrive but as time went on I knew something was wrong so I contacted the person I bought the item from to hear that it had been delivered! I live in a small complex but there are 3 different places a=in which I am in a Place but there is a street of same name and gardens of the same and I am in a Place. Royal Mail investigated and found who it was delivered to but cannot tell me who because of the Data protection protection! I can`t get my money or item back with nothing of any good enough apology. I have tried the claims section and complaints section but keep getting put back to the same claims page! can RM pull the finger out and help me a bit more than they have.
