A review of Ruchill Primary School by Linda Byrne written on Thursday 18th of March 2021
To be balanced education has moved on in a positive way from the 1960s/ 70s. Gone is the belt, the humiliation, the ritual belting of a whole class for some minor misdemeanor. In is the person centred, individual learning with additional support, nurture groups and all round a healthier learning environment. Whilst both previous posts are accurate apart from a small typo naming Ruchill as Richill! I stand by what was written.
I also remember a boy in the class called p who wore a hearing aid with wires. Everytime p was asked to read he would put his hearing aid off and wink at us a the teacher stood in front of him shouting loudly and deliberately p p p CAN YOU HEAR ME?.
