A review of Kelvinhaugh Primary School by Annie reynolds ( maiden name,Masterton) written on Tuesday 27th of September 2022
In 1953 - I was five - my first day at Kelvinhaugh primary school was scary and exciting. I lived two minutes away on Yorkhill st. My cousin Bette and I skipped there on our adventure. I remember every morning we lined up and marched up to our classroom to one of the teachers playing the piano. I wish I could remember our teachers name. Playtime was great fun, especialy playing peever under the rooms outside. Bathrooms were one side girls, the other boys. Sometimes our mothers would stand outside the gate and hand us a hot cup of soup in the winter or a “piece” in jam. So many happy memories. Wish I could go back for a day. I am now 74 years old and still remember going there with fondness..
