Hello there Agnes, my name is Mark Bird, and I knew Mrs Armstrong from my time at the school. She started there in January of 1985, and I knew she was there for a great number of years, well into the 1990s. She consoled me after my mother died in 1989. At the time, we had two other playground staff, Mrs Docherty and Mrs Payne, who actually retired that year.

Mrs Docherty passed away in 2001, and I don't know about Mrs Payne though, but I reckon she must be gone now, for next year, she will be 100 years old. You never know: she might still be alive, and that she will see her centenary..
