A review of The Bothy Restaurant by Heather written on Wednesday 7th of November 2007
A lovely restaurant with a great feel to it but very disapointed by both the food and service after hearing great reviews previously. Two of our table had the soup to start which was extremely over salted, a very basic error for an aparently top class restaurant. The other starter was very pleasant, as were 2 of the main courses but the third main course of haddock and chips was dissapointing due to the sogginess of the batter. Our dissapointment in the food may have been overlooked if the service had been much better, the waiting staff were not unpleasant to us but did not seem very friendly either and certainly paid us the minimum attention possible; we were never even asked if we enjoyed our meal. Hopefully our experience was an exception to the normal and we were just unlucky but I don't think we will be returning soon to find out.
