A review of La Vita Pizzaria by S Clark written on Monday 31st of December 2007
Having dined at La Vita Bishopbriggs for years, a recent visit may well be our last. The food as ever was great, but the dour waiters spoiled an otherwise great lunch. This is a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and good food, but is being seriously let down by a lack of customer service. Having worked in the hospitality trade I make a point of being very polite to all waiting staff and never forget to tip. At £50 for lunch and wine for 2, a lunchtime visit to La Vita isnt cheap, but we normally see it as good value as we have had many enjoyable meals here. However a lack of a smile at any stage, no 'enjoy your meal' when food was presented or even a 'thank you' when we paid and left a generous tip was unbelievable. As we walked out the door, 2 staff saw us leave and made no effort to say thank you or even smile. Maybe they were having an off day, but this once great establishment has just gone from a family favourite, to the bottom of the list - what a shame..
