A review of The New Farm by Michael Collumb written on Monday 21st of January 2008
I visited the new farm on xmas day and the service and food was exquisite to none there were thirteen of us under the name mcnair.
I visited again on sunday the 19th jan 08 with my wife for her birthday, we ordered our meal! but taken our drinks to the table my wife could not lift drink from the table, as the glass was stuck to it it had not been cleaned, there were no napkins brought to the table when the main meal arrived, it was , 2 sirloin steaks that I would be still chewing the a week from getting it! it was that tough
My wife left nearly the full meal as the chips were virtually dipped in hot fat and taken back out again, they were hard like eating raw potato we never got any forks and had to ask for them, no napkins again and the table was still dirty, we had to ask for it to be cleaned! it was half cleaned! as nothing was lifted off the table to clean it when I complained to the manager in charge, he apologised very weakly then he walked away as if nothing had happened no offer of refund complementary drink absolutely nothing,
I am totally apalled how something so good at xmas when we had a superb meal and service that it could go so wrong a couple of weeks later as all the basics of having a lovely meal was missing ie:
(cleanliness, cutlery, napkins and good cooked food and no hospitallity ) I will never know how you could get it so wrong as it was so right at xmas and it was all the same staff that was serving us so there was no excuse for the way we were treated my wife's 50th birthday was totally ruined as the staff were having more of a laugh and carry on behind the bar than the customers were having
hoping your cuisine and service pick up as I am a local to the new farm an d I will be telling a lot of people how we were treated and I have stayed hear all my life and that was the worst ( first ever letter of complaint I have done )
yours let down
Mr M. Collumb
