A review of Langside Hall by Jim drummond written on Sunday 27th of January 2008
After living in manchester for 5 years my then fiance and i decided that since i grew up in shawlands that we would have our wedding reception in langside halls.
so on the 25th of october 2003 we tied the knot,(the night previous we spent decorating the hall),we got wed in the glasgow marraige suites the it was off to the halls for our photographs. standing outside the venue in late october in a kilt was not very warm, but the colouring in the trees and surrounding areas made for beautifull photos so it was worth the nip in the air.
inside was beautifull with all the maroon and cream silk that we had put up 15 hours earlier.
everyone was there family and freinds from all over the country good food and lots of drink how i was still standing at the end of the night i will never know.
after letting off fire works at around 10 pm and covering the street in thick smoke it was back inside to dance the night away.
my lasting memory was standing outside the halls at 1 am at the taxi rank me in my kilt my wife in her dress leaning drunk against each other waiting for a taxi to take us to our hotel..
