A review of The Merchant Pride by AJ written on Sunday 28th of January 2007
For the past few years i have been a regular at Merchant Pride. I am astonished at the review Alan Cumming has given. There are pubs in Glasgow I dont like, i would never have the bitter cheek to review them in such a callous manner. I am a professional person, who enjoys the banter of Robert & May on a Sunday. I take friends from all over Scotland to this bar where the laughs are flowing. So she knows a butcher in Parkhead, I know one from Tollcross. If I could write a skeet about him and make people laugh then I would. A kind hearted woman with bags of personality and heart of gold. Robert the quiet man is talented in his own write on both keyboards and as a painter. So Alan, if you dont like it then dont be bitter, i wonder if you sell out concerts and have pubs bursting at the seams with your reportoire... doubt it! As for Angie O ... dont take it to serious, its an alternative night for those of us with a sense of humour.
And before i sign out, I'd like more of the thousands of fans of Robert & May to join me in this and to the hilarious duo- dont ever stop entertaining us..
