A review of Sa Marina by Joseph written on Sunday 16th of March 2008
I went to this restaurant after a recommendation from a friend and i am glad i did. their website (www.samarinauk.com)describes it as a 'sardinian restaurant' which was a new twist for me.
The first thing that struck me was the geniuine welcome from annemarie who is the manager and did the table service, despite being very busy with other tables she was very attentive and did everything with a smile, which is rare these days.
as seafood is advertised as their speciality we opted for mussels to start the amazing spicy sauce it came with was to die for. i had sea bass for the main course and the missus opted for veal t-bone, both were cooked to perfection. The sardinian wine annemarie recommended (vermentino) was sublime.
Mario, the chef/owner even went round the tables to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal. when was the last time you seen that.
a lovely small restaurant, great food and service, reasonable prices, definately worth a visit, i'll be back.
