A review of Bella Italia by Annoyed written on Thursday 3rd of April 2008
We had wanted to try this place for a few weeks as it looked like it had a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Tonight me and my significant other decided to go for a date together and decided Bella Italia would be a nice idea.
On ordering our starters of soup of the day the waiter actively talked us out of ordering a side order of garlic bread. When the starter came it was a small portion with a small single piece of bread.
After the uninspiring soup and a lengthy wait, during which the garlic bread would have distracted us from, our main course comprised of burnt chicken and steak respectively, a small portion of dry tasteless chips that were slightly burnt and some rocket salad which did not come with the tomatoes that were stated in the menu.
The steak was burnt and had pools of blood even though it was requested to be cooked well done. Both dishes sauces appeared to be spread as if to cover the fact both dishes were very burned. The £1.95 mushroom sauce that was chosen with the steak was terrible and along with the steak created a truely terrible dish. The sauce for the chicken was also far to thick and tasteless.
Putting the meal aside, the waiter could have been more attentive. He left us sitting after our desert for a full 20 minutes with our empty plates and cups in our way and after taking it away did not bring us our bill after another lengthy wait and instead seemed more intrested in perfecting the arrangement of cuttlery on tables next to us.
We would certainly say that out of all the restaurants we have tried the Bella Italia is most certainly the worst. The prices did not reflect the quality of the apparently shop bought meals atall. This restaurant is exremely deceptive and we would not recomment it to anyone. .
