A review of The Apollo Players by Glasgow. written on Friday 2nd of May 2008
I was at the Apollo players performance of Fame on 1/4/08 at the Kings Theatre. Im a huge musical fan and visit the theatre at least once a month. As always I was excited about the performance, especially because it was Fame. However my excitment turned into dissapointment not long after the curtains went up. The quality of the singing, dancing (which may I add Fame is famous for) and acting was no better than a high schools end of term show. However lets not put the blame on those poor performers. The casting, choreography, directing and wardrobe were no better. The most annoying part is that I feel totaly ripped off. I purchased 2 adult tickets for the grand circle and payed £34. To be honest with you it wasnt worth £10. I feel that for the quality, the tickets were extremly overpriced and unjustifyed. This was my first visit to an Apollo players performance and trust me it will be my last. The kings Theatre has a history of great productions, its just too bad the apollo players didnt do it any justice. .
