A review of Allied International Credit by Anonymous written on Thursday 8th of May 2008
I think it was January this year when i was first contacted by AIC. The were demanding full payment of a lloyds overdraft approx, £1500. I tried to explain to them that i could not pay the full amount in one go but that I wanted to pay the debt off so offered them £30 per month. However, they wouldn't accept my offer saying they don't do a monthly repayment scheme and that i would either have to pay the full amount or they will take it from my wages each month or take me to court...I don't understand why they can take monthly payments that way and not from me just sending them a cheque for £30 every month??? Anyway, i have been sending them a cheque for £30 each month and they have been accepting the payments but still issuing me with warning letters. They finally contacted me by phone and offered me a settlement of £900. I can get the £900 but obviously i would like written confirmation of the settlement figure. The guy i spoke to at AIC said he would email me confirmation...i have given him two different email addresses but i still haven't received confirmation. He keeps ringing me to check that i have got the email and i feel pressured to get the money transfered directly to AIC bank account. However, because i am borrowing the money from family, they want written confirmation, not an email, which i still haven't received anyway. I don't know why they can't send out a letter confirming the settlement figure when they can send out warning letters every month? Any ideas on what my next step would be are very welcome. Thanks in advance..
