"End of an Era"

A review of St Ambrose R C Primary School by Mon the 'Brose written on Friday 13th of June 2008

Well I can only say that I am saddened by the outlook for St. Ambrose. The Outlook points toward a new school (A "Super School") which is currently under construction which will see St Augustine's and St. Ambrose amalgamate into "St. Monica's.

I have three children being schooled at St. Ambrose and I fear the the new school will not be able to live up to the high standards set at St. Ambrose.

Conor is about to leave after the summer and head off to high school, Rhys will be goung into P6 and my wee lass Kennedy will be going into P3 I just hope that the academic practices of the Teachers at the new school can come close those that already exist at St. Ambrose.

What of the School footie team. St. Ambrose wrote a piece of history this year being the 1st primmary school to wint the treble The Lavine League (wrapped up with 5 games left) The Carruth Cup (A 6 - 3 Thriller) and the final piece The Opfer Logan Cup (3 - 1).
