A review of Carbeth Inn by Mr Hamilton written on Tuesday 8th of July 2008
I used to visit the Carbeth Inn twice a week some ten years ago, the food was always very good quality.
I recently moved back to Glasgow and subsequently visited the Inn in July 2008, taking my family along.
I have to say that it was quite a shock. On arrival I had to guide my young family through the Public bar past a gauntlet of pretty drunk men. Once in the restaurant I found that the place was filthy, cob webs everywhere and a bad smell of dampness. Unfortunately we decided to order food from the menu.
I have to say that none of my family ate very much at all as it was Awful. No one enjoyed anything. For the record I ordered Steak Pie which apart from tasting bad, was served with Chips, coleslaw and salad?.
We could not wait to get out and will never be back.
So disappointing..
