A review of The Merchant Pride by Tricky Ricky s/s written on Wednesday 29th of October 2008
Yeah as far as i know they did change the chef in the MED, though believe it is now a kp that is doing the cooking...eat at your own peril i say.
Was in there recently, though sad to say the place wasnt as busy as it used to be, dont know if that is a sad reflection on the passing of the old owner, or if its because of th new owner.
Prices are still too high, this was always a pricey place to eat/drink and with the present climate, they still havent done nothing with their prices...every other bar we've been in has, so no doubt people are hot-footing it to the places where the prices are best and MED isnt it.
Halloween and xmas are round the corner so it will be good to see what all the bars have on offer esp the merchant & pride, though dont see them doing much Glasgow LGBT community deserve more, esp with its INDEPENDANT bars who boast fiercly independent & proud...lets see how well you can make your community proud then, people react with their feet...they walk away as is the case with some bars.
Was in the court and the waterloo this week hats of too the guys there, they know what the punters want, cheap drink bouncy attitude good entertainment.
Merchant MED and one other joint can perfom those tasks...thats why we go else where.
