A review of Ruchill Primary School by Dane L McMillan written on Sunday 11th of January 2009
Looking at the site and find myself having to comment on My time @ Ruchill between 1959 and 1965,also with the 69th B.B. at Ruchill Church.
This school was responsible for setting me on a varied and vast career touring and travelling the world as an Aircraft Engineer in Civil Aviation.
The teachers, one who springs to mind, Miss McCallum was truly inspirational in my life as a mentor and friend. It would be great to hear if she is still with us and what she's doing now?? If anyone can help then please get in touch !!
From Ruchill to North Kelvinside and then into the Royal Navy for 12 years, eventually into Civil Aviation till presently & employed with one of the Top Ten companies in the world General Electric Ltd.
All this is down to the input from the Staff and also in some cases "my fellow pupils"who if they read this will remember me and my sister Terry from Whitworth Street, spurred me onto great things in my life and fond fond memories. I have been back and even played Ruchill golf course again were I learned the Great game, and reviews of which are correct"it is one of the best 9 hole courses around.I should know, because I have played world-wide on some "Belters" and exclusive ones at that. So to sum up anyone reading this Get In Touch and we can relive the Good Old Days again, you know it makes sense!!..
