A review of St Gilbert's R C Primary School by Audrey Kelly written on Monday 9th of February 2009
I agree with you Stuart, St Gilberts is one of the best and should be left alone. Like Stuart my daughter is in P5 at St Gilberts and I'm proud to say she is doing very well, and has done since primary 1. Now this is not only down to my child being bright. This is mostly down to the attention paid to our kids as individuals since primary 1 and throughout her 5 years so far at St Gilberts. Its down to the patience and method of teaching the teachers at St Gilberts adopt. It's about the happy and secure atmosphere within the school that our kids feel everyday. I think its disgraceful that at this stage in their education anyone with half of a brain in their heads would see the need to disrupt our childrens lives and put their security and confidence at a very high risk. I feel my child will have a hard enough job coping with the change from primary school to secondary school in 2 years time so she shouldnt have to experience that difficulty of a change now. The council and education board and all our politicians are supposed to want the best for our kids so they should use some common sense in this matter instead of textbook statistics and realise they will disrupt and upset the lives and educations of a hell of s lot of kids for no good reason at all. Money? Well how are they ever suposed to achieve anything to make money if their educations are constantly tampered with!
Leave St Gilberts alone. .
