A review of Glasgow Central Mosque by Dr. M. Iqbal Anwar written on Friday 8th of May 2009
Our elders worked tirelesly to generate substantial funds to build the mosque and new generation could play its part by working together to improve and enhance the services at the mosque. The Central Mosque is an identical symbol for the Muslim in Glasgow, which is a vital source of building harmony and friendship across the communities of Glasgow. I have observed that Jamiat Ittihad-ul-Muslimin has initiated several programmes and project to benefit Muslim children, youth, women and elderly at the Mosque with the help of the Muslim Community at large. Although Jamiat and Board of Trustees are working together to achieve the constitutional abjectives of the Islamic Centre, it would be further helpful to broaden the working relationship with the community and to initiate an open forum (may be friends of Jamiat to strengthen the organisational work)at the mosque, where Muslim Community problems and issues can be addressed and seek solutions.
