A review of The Co-operative by JALEX written on Monday 20th of July 2009
I find the practice of not allowing the sale of tobacco products without recording details of the purchaser if they look under the age of 25 years, stupid. In a small community like ours where we all know each other, Co-op staff included, producing ID once should be sufficient but no, my two oldest are continually asked to produce proof of age by staff, oldest 23 years of age her sister 19 years of age, and it does not matter how often they shop in one day alchohol, or tobacco products its the same story, "I know you are old enough but I still have to do it, ID please". We have now taken to shopping elsewhere, also all co-op staff will only get served in our establishment after producing ID no matter how often they come up to my bar to be served.
