A review of J & E Levingstone by Steve Morris written on Wednesday 5th of August 2009
I am now 53 years old and I remember going to Levingstone's as a wee boy every Sunday. We lived in Cartvale Rd (1961-65)
My dad was Jewish and the only day he had off was a Sunday. He was a bookmaker. Every Sunday he would give me half a crown and I went to Levingstone's and bought myself a present. This was one of the few shops open on a Sunday as they are Jewish. Although they were stationers then, there was always an exciting gift to buy. I remember two brothers who used to help me chose something. It is a great memory and I cannot believe they are still going strong after all these years! Well done Levingstone's.
You must be doing something right.
