A review of China Buffet King by Golftraveller written on Tuesday 11th of August 2009
We were there on the evening of 10/08/09 and were singularly unimpressed to the point where I have to say it was possibly one of the worst meals I have ever had. We had been looking forward to eating here as we had passed it a number of times and enjoy Chinese buffets. We found that the temperature of virtually all the food was tepid to cool at best, most of the chicken dishes were extremely tough, particularly the salt and chilli chicken. The pork char sui, labelled as the Chefs Choice, was so tough we could barely cut through it let alone chew it. The only saving grace were the dishes in sauces i.e. the beef in black bean sauce, the chicken in green pepper and black bean sauce and the duck in ginger to name but three. These were very nice and redeemed what could have been a disastrous meal. A real shame as the variety and choice were there just let down by the cool temperature and toughness of the meats. My advice would be to try somewhere else, after all it’s not as if there’s nowhere else to go..
