A review of Cromwell Models by Johno written on Saturday 15th of August 2009
I bought approx. £200 of stuff from Cromwell in Autumn 2008, just before they pulled their website- mainly modern (or post-WW2) British vehicles.
After a not unreasonable period, I received exactly what I had ordered, well-packaged and intact.
The detail and authenticity (of the modern UK AFVs, at least) are unequalled- extraordinarily crisp moldings (or else very active quality control!)
Each model is a little gem. I haven't seen better in resin at this scale (1/72; 1/76)- and just as well, as some of the vehicles just aren't readilly available from other suppliers.
Saddened to see less positive reviews here- I'm awaiting the return of Gordon's web-presence, when I will happily buy again.
In the meantime, Britannia miniatures make some very interesting current UK stuff- compromised (as they clearly state) for wargamers, but absolutely top-notch customer service- open, friendly and prompt. Relatively cheap, too. Liberation Miniatures have a wide range of interesting vehicles, and a very friendly owner- but be prepared to wait a while; and they really need to start accepting 'Paypal'.
