A review of Ashoka-Curry Karaoke by Rustifer written on Friday 11th of September 2009
I went there recently with 9 of my friends to celebrate my birthday. We had won an auction on Priceyourmeal.com
Our meal was the 5 course banquet, which started with popadoms followed by mixed pakora (I've noticed people have complained about the small portions but it does say on the website to ask for more, which we did). The main meal was an array of about 8 different curries in bowls with dishes of rice and nan bread, which was adequate for everybody. There was cake and ice cream for dessert. The karaoke dj was very entertaining as were the staff. We had a thoroughly good time and I would recommend this night to everybody.
The only problem I encountered was trying to book through PYM.com. I thought their website had problems but the only means of booking is by calling the restaurant directly and PYM would do well to let customers know this.
If you happen to use PYM to organise your night out be aware that the voucher is only valid for 3 months and that this venue is extremely busy, and gets booked months in advance for corporate parties. The best thing to do is to buy the voucher 3 months before you need to use it and to call and book the restaurant immediately. I had a lot of problems getting the night I wanted but the restaurant manager was extremely helpful.
Thanks to all the staff for an excellent birthday party!.
